Summer Camp 2017 Information

 

Summer Camp for 2017 will be at Camp Bob Hardin

Where: Camp Bob Hardin, Saluda, North Carolina 28773 (Campsites: Iriquois A&B, Keowee A&B, Natchez A&B)

When: June 18 - 24, 2017

Load trailer: 5:00 PM, Saturday, June 17, 2017, at CVLC (fundraising dinner after TBD)

Family Night: Wednesday, June 21, 2017, Parents and families are encouraged to visit camp, enjoy dinner at 6:00 PM and stay for the OA Campfire Show.

Depart: 9:30 AM, Sunday, June 18, 2017, Parkwood Baseball field parking lot.

Return: Pick up at CVLC, Saturday, June 25, 2017 (scouts will phone).

Camp Bob Hardin operates on a BLOCK SCHEDULE where most Merit Badge classes are full day classes, one time during the week.  This allows for more time in class and less time walking to and from class.  Classes are held Monday through Thursday.  Friday morning is class make up time and Friday afternoon is available for a Troop adventure.  The Merit Badge Schedule is below.


Costs:

  • $275.00 per camper

Payments:

First Payment: February 27 (at the latest)

  • $150.00 per camper

Final Payment: May 8 (at the latest)

  • $125.00*, plus gas fees (TBD) per camper

* Additional fees may be required for certain merit badges and high adventure classes.  Information will be communicated as soon as possible.

Schedule Release: March 31, 2016 (anticipated)

Class sign-up: February 20 campers must have made choices

  • PLEASE review your choices with your parents and Mr. Parrott before submitting


Scout Programs:

  • Upward Bound (Required for all new scouts);  All day Monday through Thursday
  • Merit Badge Offerings

Adult Training:

  • TBD


Medical and other Forms:

All Scouts must complete the BSA Medical Form, parts A, B, & C (see below). The physical must have been completed within 12 months prior to the end of camp (June 24, 2017) to be valid.

You must also include a copy of both the front and back of your insurance card.

We will be collecting forms on Monday June 5 at the regular meeting. Please bring FOUR copies of each document as we will not have sufficient time to copy them at that late a date and have to provide them to various programs.

Make sure we have the following:

  1. Fully completed and updated medical forms (four copies!)
  2. Four copies of front and back of insurance cards
  3. Completed Hold Harmless Agreement
  4. Participant Information Form???
  5. Parental Consent Form - signed by both the Scout and parent/guardian???
