Boards of Review

Troop 486 conducts boards of review on Monday evenings during troop meetings or as scheduled with the scout and Board members.  Scheduling for the board is done the week prior to the board with Mr. Marhoul.

The procedure for scheduling your board is to first, see Mr. Marhoul and Mr. Parrott to confirm all requirements for your rank have been met.

Remember that all requirements must be met before a board can be scheduled.  This includes your Scoutmaster Conference.

Scoutmaster Conferences
Scoutmaster conferences are required prior to taking your board for advancement to each rank. This is a time for you to review with an adult leader in the Troop:  a) how you are doing on your Road to Eagle; b) what you need to know for your Board of Review; c) what is in store for you after you reach your next rank; d) to have an opportunity to tell an adult leader in the Troop how your Scouting experience is progressing.

See Mr. Hayward to schedule all Scoutmaster Conferences.

Eagle Boards of Review
Eagle Boards!  The Mawat District now provides Eagle Boards of Review on the third Thursday of the month (other times can be arranged in irregular circumstances). Troop 486 Eagle Scout Candidates should be working with the Road to Eagle advisor in preparing your paperwork and records before going for your Eagle board.

The Eagle board is comprised of representatives of the district. The board is scheduled after completing all paperwork and turning it in to Council prior to your 18th birthday.

Scout Spirit Definition

Scout spirit applies to how a Scout lives and conducts his 'daily' life. He shows Scout spirit by being a role model to his peers, living by the Scout Oath and Law. The concept of Scout spirit is not based on how many Scouting events or outings a Scout attends, but rather by how he helps bring out the best in others as a reflection of his own character and attitude in his 'daily' life.
